Banbury Amateur Radio Society exists to foster interest in Amateur Radio and provide opportunities for anyone interested in the hobby to develop their interest further. More information about its aims can be found by clicking the 'Constitution' Link on the left.
BARS is a small but well-established society which draws its members from Banbury and the surrounding area. The membership is currently in the thirties.
BARS actively encourages members to participate and can draw upon a wide range of experienced amateurs to assist in almost every aspect of the hobby.
The club runs classes for the Radio Amateurs Examination to help new members get licenced and on the air.
So if you live in, or near to North Oxfordshire and would like to "have a look at" amateur radio, then feel free to pop along on a Wednesday night and say hello. You can find details about forthcoming meetings by clicking the 'Events Programme' link on the left.

| Harwell Rally
The organisers of the Harwell Rally have asked that we bring their event to the attention of club members. Details are as follows: HARWELL AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY are holding a Radio and Electronics Rally at Didcot Leisure Centre, Mereland Road, Didcot, Oxon OX11 8AY on Sunday 12th February 2012 from 10.30am-3.30pm. There will be radio, electronics and computing trade stalls, second-hand stalls, Special Interest Groups displays, RSGB Bookstall, Information on Courses for new Radio Amateurs and a Demonstration Station.
