HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF B.A.R.S.
| Come and join us! | ||
If you played the video on the Home Page we can assure you that we don't climb towers in full evening dress and sing songs to passing aircraft, but we do lots of other interesting things - and ultimately the members decide what we do. |
The Constitution link on the left gives you the small print, but the key points about membership are type of membership, fees, guests and benefits. |
Guests: Any member can bring a guest to a Society activity. Vsitors who come to more than two meetings are expected to become members. |
Fees: Currently £20 a year and membership runs from 1st April to 31st March. There are reductions if you join part way through the year, down to a minimum of 25% of the annual fee. If you are joining after the end of Aprilthe year you need to calculate the fee due: (number of months left in year/12) x £20. If you join between 1st January and 31st March the fee is the minimum - £5. |
Where does the money go? Mainly for renting and heating rooms to meet in, some equipment, RSGB membership fees, bank fees and all the other minor admin costs that just can't be avoided but do mount up. You can check the accounts at the AGM if you want the full picture, but rest assured that you membership fee is made to go a very long way. |
